Simon Morrison leads the recreation of the choreography, costumes and elaborate mechanical set of one of the lost ballets of the 20th century, Le Pas d'Acier or The Steel Step by legendary Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev. Theater historian Lesley-Anne Sayers designed the set based on the one that originally was planned for the ballet by Georgi Yakoulov. The choreography is reimagined by Millicent Hodson and Kenneth Archer, assisted by Rebecca Lazier. With support from several University departments, the University Orchestra, under the direction of Michael Pratt, performs Prokofiev's score with 60 musicians and the cast of dancers includes 18 members of the Dance Program.
