Featured as part of a course designed to research the intersections of architecture and structural design in a studio and seminar format and co-taught by Architecture historian Tyler Sprague and engineer Sigrid Adriaenssens with Janet Echelman and Rebecca Lazier. The studio investigated tension-based structures, through tensioned and draped nets to explore how nets can be imagined and built for visual and choreographic expression. Lazier partnered with students to develop a collaborative, full-scale installation, In*Tension, in the interior atrium of the UW architecture building and worked with four professional dancers and composer to design a system of movement and adaptation for performance. This installation was designed as part of a public performance won the 2019 AIA Northwest and Pacific Region Merit Student Design Award.
